Association of Local Governments "The Gediminids' Way"
The Association of Local Government "The Gediminids' Way" was founded on May 10, 2013 at the constituent meeting of the Association in Khotyn by authorized representatives from the founding cities: Khotyn, Lutsk, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Ostroh and Izyaslav.
The Charter of the Association was approved. Lursk Mayor Mykola Romanyuk was elected the President of the Association, and Kamyanets-Podilsky Mayor Mykhaylo Simashkevych and Khotyn Mayor Hennadiy Varhulyak were elected Vice Presidents.
Mr. Gennadiy Druzenko and Ms. Natalia Bunda were assigned to the positions of Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director of the Association, respectively.
The abovementioned persons plus Ostroh Mayor Oleksandr Shyker and Izyaslav Mayor Valentyn Pankovsky formed the Board of the Association.
The Association was registered on May 30, 2013, at 2 Senatorky Levchanivskoyi St., Lutsk, Volyn Oblast, 43000, Ukraine, whereof an entry was made in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs.
Later on, Starokostyantyniv, the Volyn Oblast, Korets and Slavuta joined the Association
For The Gediminids' Way international project, a Board of Trustees was formed of prominent public figures. Within the framework of the international project, the Association signed Memorandums of Cooperation with the Lithuanian municipalities of Kaunas, Trakai and Ukmergė, the Belarusian districts of Novogrudok and Lida and the city of Brest, the Polish city of Lublin, the Czech city of Kutná Hora, and the Ukrainian oblasts of Cherkasy and Khmelnytsky.
